Necesse Naturals was founded by Francina Grazette in 2014. What started as a necessity and labour of love quickly turned into something greater. Now Francina and her cruelty-free, all-natural beauty product company are ready to take the industry by storm!
Why did you start Necesse? How did everything come together?
Necesse was started out of a need to alleviate the discomfort my father was having. During that time my father was suffering from kidney disease and, as a result of the medication he was taking, coupled with the limitation on water intake, he was experiencing extreme dryness and discomfort with his skin. I started experimenting with natural products and then I came up with a formula that satisfied his needs.
And where did the name Necesse Naturals come from?
It was a challenge thinking of a name! I had to take into consideration that the skin is the human body’s largest organ. I find we don’t spend as much time taking care of our skin as we do our hair and our looks. But it’s so necessary for us to look after our skin as well.
I wanted to play on that, the necessity of taking care of our skin. But Necessary Naturals didn’t have the “catchy” name I was looking for.
I’ve always had a fascination with other cultures and languages, so I thought using “Necesse”, the Latin word for necessary, gave the company that creative name that it needed. And Necesse Naturals was born!
Why should a potential customer use Necesse products?
There are so many expensive products on the market that advertise all the problems they’ll fix, the wrinkles they’ll flatten, or the glow they’ll give you. Necesse Naturals is all about giving you a quality all-natural, cruelty-free product that works! Every ingredient is USDA certified, and fully disclosed, with no hidden chemicals, and absolutely nothing is tested on animals.
We also want to educate the public about the benefits of using natural and organic products, and the side effects of using harmful chemicals in their beauty products. We’re very focused on raising awareness around what ingredients are in the products we put on our bodies and that we use to clean our homes, and are trying to create a loving community and environment founded on the principles of health and wellness for our bodies and minds.
What are three things that you want people to know about Necesse as a company and its products?
1. None of our ingredients are chosen lightly: everything is carefully curated and selected.
2. We care about your skin and the environment! All of our products are cruelty-free and have minimal impact on the environment where they’re produced, and where the ingredients are sourced.
3. Because our products are sulfate- and paraben-free and use no artificial fragrances, they’re perfect for those with eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
Do you have a favorite Necesse product?
The body butter is my favorite, without question! It’s the product that started Necesse Naturals, so I can’t help but love it.
What does the future hold for you and Necesse?
There are a lot of fun and exciting things we’re currently working on. We have a line of hair products currently in the works including sulfate- and paraben-free shampoos and conditioners, as well as some specialty hair oils that promote hair growth and help with thickness and volume. We’re also working on a line of all-natural household cleaning products that we think the community will love.
